We have a new interim pastor!
Brief bio for the Rev Lyle A Kleman
Rev Kleman “officially” retired July 1, 2008. Prior to that he served the North/West Lower Michigan Synod as an Intentional Interim Minister for 26 years. All but one of the interims was part time.
Rev Kleman served two settled pastorates: In Hecla, SD, and in Saginaw, MI before beginning his Intentional Interim duties.
He and his wife, Ann, a retired public school teacher, moved to Cedar Rapids in the summer of 2008.
While Rev Kleman was doing his various part time interim ministries, he also was a radio news director for 12 years in Saginaw, MI and for 10 years served as Executive Director of the Bridge Center for Racial Harmony, a race relations program, also in Saginaw.
In addition to his ministry, radio and race relations experiences, Rev Kleman is a Professional Registered Parliamentarian with the Independence, MO-based National Association of Parliamentarians. He will serve as the parliamentarian for the ELCA’s Churchwide Assembly in Minneapolis this August.
