The congregation of First Lutheran Church invites individuals and groups to apply for monies from our First Lutheran All Mission Endowment (FLAME) Fund.  We are an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) community located in Iowa County, Iowa, USA.  As a community of worship and service, we have an endowment fund to enhance the mission of the greater church.  Our goal is to award annual disbursements to projects that are consistent with the mission, purpose and priorities of First Lutheran, yet stand apart from the general operations of the congregation. These disbursements will fund projects in local communities, regional ministries and global mission.

The FLAME fund disbursements originate from our endowment that is a collection of legacy gifts from members and friends of the church.  We welcome any and all contributions that will grow our mission.

The FLAME Fund Committee invites you to fill out our application.  In 2023 we were able to distribute over $20,000 to 19 different groups.  Completed applications are due by email, hard copy receipt at the church, or postmarked no later than September 30th.  Incomplete applications cannot be considered.  Notifications of awards will be sent no later than December 11, 2023.

Disbursements will be awarded at the beginning of January.  A Sunday celebration service may be planned for January 7th, 2024 at 10 am.  More information on the celebration will be sent out with notification letters in December.  Questions can be submitted to church email address, firstlutheran@hotmail.com
